In 1962; under the chairmanship of Shiela Van Damm and committee, Mrs Colin Chapman, Mrs John Cooper, Mrs Gregor Grant, Mrs Graham Hill and Mrs John Webb, the Doghouse Owners’ Club was born. More formally known as The Women’s Motor Racing Associates Club, the club is now in its 60th year and continues to promote friendship, support and fundraising in motorsport.
The Club was the brainchild of wives of British Grand Prix drivers. These formidable women decided to group around what was primarily a Charitable cause; taking care of those families in the racing community stricken by accident, misfortune and grief.
